New Trent IMP38B Airbender compatible
I don't normally write product reviews. But after being on a quest to incorporate my iPad into my business life and needing the perfect keyboard/case, I have to review this product.
It is really a great device. It has turned my iPad into a min-laptop and the most useful device I now use. For travel, it can't be beat. Protects the iPad,, and actually turns it into an INPUT device vs. strickly a tablet for browsing the web.
The keyboard is great. Like all iPad keyboards, it is a little small for man's hands, but it is responsive, and blows away trying to type on the native screen keyboard. What's more, you can move your iPad into any number of useful positions, and even detatch it and use as a tablet while still protected by the back of the cover (this was not evident to me by the videos, but I was glad to see it was designed this way).
I wish the right shift key was a little wider, but it's a small price to pay for this functinality.
The battery life is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I have been heavily using it all day every day for 5 days, have not turned it off once, and it still has battery.
The folks at New Trent have a winner here!

Pros:
-Integrates great with iPad. Just as if you were typing on the iPad's screen, the auto correct functionality corrects typos, which helps to compensate for mistakes made due to the small keys
-Adds functional buttons to control volume, brightness, music, Spotlight, and picture frame mode.
-LED indicator lights for Bluetooth and charge needed
-Once connected initially, re-connects automatically when turned on, even after prolonged periods of no use
-Functions as a stand in vertical or horizontal mode
-Functions as a front cover for iPad
Cons:
-Small keys, which is to be expected for a portable keyboard
If you have the need to add a keyboard for the iPad, you can't do any better than this product. Great price and great functionality. The smalls keys are to be expected, and are compensated for by the iPad's great auto correct functionality. Works as advertised (and probably even better!) and would definitely recommend to others.

BalasHapusI have been searching for a bluetooth/case combination for the iPad 2. I looked at the Logitech and Targus keyboard cases for the iPad. The Targus device was good except that when you close it, it does not have a magnetic switch that shuts down the iPad. The Logitech and New Trent units have the auto shutoff, which is critical for traveling. Freqently we forget to power the unit down when we close the case. This shuts it down so you don't have an iPad that needs recharging after you open the case again.
The New Trent keyboard connected easily to the iPad. I liked the size and feel of the keyboard compared to the Logitech and Targus keyboards. It was small enough to be compact, but large enough so that I could use it easily. Having a keyboard is very important when I type emails and text messages. It is much easier than using the touch keyboard on the iPad itself.
The iPad goes into the case very easily. It is also easy to remove. The case acts as a stand to view videos on the iPad. The iPad can be put in vertical or horizontal and has 3 adjustable angles.
The case appears to be sturdy. The keyboard seems to be durable. When closed, the case offers protection and is an attractive case. If you need a keyboard and case for the iPad 2, look at the New Trent IMP39B.

You can't have it all, but this keyboard really gives you more than most at a budget concious price which makes this an outstanding value. This is my third ipad case in as many months due to the fact that the others just did not deliver on expectation and need. However after tooling around with this keyboard case for less than 30 minutes, it's easy to see that it is a fully functional accessory with exceptional tactile response and my speed of typing vs the native on-screen keyboard and a input speed increased by a factor of 5. In addition the screen can be placed in 3 angles for either landscape or portrait layout providing for a total of 6 different screen viewing options. The keyboard itself can be removed from the case to provide a much more ergonomic setup when sitting at a desk or table. Matching feature for feature and all-around versatility places this New Trent bluetooth accessory keyboard case at the top of it's class. I've seen the others constructed with expensive materials and maybe a sleeker look, but I'm on a budget and looking for performance. The performance of the IMP39B is unparalled in the industry and is my top recommendation for anyone that requires speedy input package to get up and go!
